Who Curled My Lip???

Good evening, Dear Readers!

The Holidays are over, and I realize what an absolute Blessing it was to have been able to spend them with family! What a gift!

I seem to have started somewhat of a "theme" with my posts, lately; that of recalling some of the steps that I'm aware of, in my journey of giving my life to God - telling Him that I believe He is who He says that He is, and then asking Him to please come into my life and "run it completely".....according to His perfect will.

One more "recalling of facts;" then, as He wills, it's on to other things!

After coming home from Vietnam, leaving the Air Force, then beginning my Undergrad degree at college; I remember coming home late one night and turning the TV on.....then randomly scrolling through the channels.

I was certainly anything BUT religious, but for some reason, I stopped on a channel that had people "talking about Jesus", with their "wonderful little smiles" pasted across their faces. For some reason, the more I listened, the angrier I became. At one point, my lip actually "curled", and I felt almost a hatred for both the people, and for the "Jesus" that they were talking about. Even though I wasn't a Christian; I always thought that I was broadminded enough to be able to accept any one's views; and this "strong reaction", almost against my will, really, really bothered me!

In fact, it bothered me so much that I actually called the number at the bottom of the screen! A young female voice answered and I said, "Look, I don't understand something........I don't know you people, but the more I watch you, the angrier I get at you. In fact, my lip is actually curling with disgust! I don't understand this....do you??"

Well, that poor young girl. She hesitated, then said, with a tremor in her voice; "Sir, it's not you.....it very well might be the Devil influencing you!" I jerked away from the phone, laughed at her....and hung up!

And I'll never forget her words.........

Folks; we're either God's, or we're under the influence - rather we realize it or not - of His enemy, the Devil.

As for me and my house; we'll serve the Lord!!

God Love you!
